Safe location and great conditions

It is only a mile from AU, which was my primary reason for choosing it, and it has been great. I feel safe walking to campus from here and at night. It is quite residential so there are often people walking around with dogs and exercising. The only downside is the bus routes from here are a little far, besides the D2 which is directly outside of it, but access to the red line or other bus routes requires far walking or transfers. Don't live here if you want the more classic busy city vibe or immediate access to bars/cafes/stores right outside your door. Laundry is clean and building is quiet.

Would not recommend

Agree with below review that the construction is unbearable; unsure how much longer I will be able to live here given the conditions. If you work at home there is little recourse to escape the onslaught of distressing noises and building management offers nothing in the way of solutions. Would not recommend this place if you want a quiet home. Mgmt also ignores problems (like elevator disrepair and terrible air conditioning) in favor of aesthetic choices.

Cannot recommend living here until construction is over

Do Not move into here until the exterior facade construction is over! It is highly disruptive and there is little transparency about why/when this will all be over. Workers are repelling up and down the building, making all sorts of noises, during the entire work day. Nice building separate from that but cannot recommend living here until this construction has been completed.

New Apartment

As a first time DC resident I am very pleased with living at 4000 Tunlaw. The unit is very spacious and one of the best values in DC. It has a beautiful pool area and 24 front desk attendant. One negative aspect is that it is not very close to the metro, however, easy to use bus lines nearby.

Great condo in quiet neighborhood

Great apartment with a pool, dry cleaning, food mart, excellent 24/7 concierge. Easy walk to bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and activities. Good for children and singles. Great for older adults. Laundry in building uses automatic cards which is very easy to maintain. Clean!

Quiet, amazing sunlight

I love living here, but it's very much an older crowd. If I was trying to make new friends, I wouldn't recommend it, but its quiet and in a great neighborhood. It's an older building so some of the units are a bit outdated, but there is a pool and overnight security.

4000 Tunlaw is a great place to live

Nice place, pretty quiet, lots of retirees. Pool renovation should be finished may 2015. about 1 mile from school, easy walk or bike ride. Building managers and staff are a little bit nosy but otherwise I have no complaints.

Glover Park Reviews

The neighborhood is very quiet and seems to be family-oriented. There are always people out on a walk. Everything seems to be very safe.
The only downside is poor public transportation access. There are no metro stops nearby. There is one bus (D2) right outside, which goes to Dupont Circle. Buses like 30, 31, and 33 are also accessible by a short walk. Not bad overall, but can make commutes somewhat long.
I love Glover Park. It is much more neighborhood than city. Wisconsin Ave has a good selection of restaurants and shops in walking distance. It's about a mile downhill to Georgetown University. Coming home, that mile is uphill! Decent bus service, no metro service at all. Uber has it covered very well.
Glover Park is an extremely safe area. It has tons of food options along with basically anything else you could need. The downside is it is not near any public transportation and the cost of living is veru high. It is extremely popular for young adults to move their after college graudation. Definitely a young, fun enviroment.
Glover Park feels like a small town in a big city. Full of quiet side streets that are great for walking/running. I feel very safe riding my bike to campus, to DuPont, to Georgetown, etc. It's a mix of students and young families, so I feel very safe.
Excellent neighborhood, quiet and close to short trail walks that take you directly into nature. Although there is no metro, there is a well-connected bus system. Trader Joe's and Safeway are both not too far and school is a good walk.
Safe area, walking distance to necessities, not a lot of noise, mix of young professionals right out of college and young families, decent amount of restaurants
Cozy suburb within DC. Lots of young families so neighbors are nice. Nice restaurants in the area, but not a very lively nightlife per se.
Easy access to whole foods, fast casual restaurants, good bar scene (Town Hall, Mad Fox, Bread Soda), Monday night trivia at Bread Soda!
