Decent for the location and price

I can't honestly complain much! My studio is small but so cozy and functional. The property is well maintained. The neighbors are respectful. Rent is a little high for the size, but that's what living in Lakeview is like! I would recommend living here to people like me.

Good Location

606 W Cornelia is a very good location with a lot of things going on around it. Our apartment feels small for what we pay for it, but it was a decent apartment. The management is always very helpful and responsive any time we needed anything. However, the walls in the apartment were very thin and their seemed to be a cockroach problem that was moving into our apartment from one of the neighboring units.

East Lakeview

You get what you pay for. Walls are paper thin, if your neighbor has friends over or their phone is on high you will hear everything. The building engineer keeps the Christmas lights up and come November decides to do work and turn them on. Elevators are old, hallways smell musty. If you need a cheap, clean apartment with no bug issues, live here.

Vintage building with a little charm

While the ground floor looks rather welcoming, when going upstairs you are overridden by stale cigarette smells. Appliances are outdated, along with carpet. On-premise property manager is great and willing to help. AC units don't work very well. Neighborhood is safe -- though could use a few more street lamps. Great value though property company will try and raise rent without warning you.

Lakeview Reviews

I'm technically at the intersection of Lakeview, Buena Park, and Wrigleyville so I feel like I get a mix of all three neighborhoods in my day to day. Buena Park is much more family oriented and a bit more affordable, but it is small so finding an apartment there is tricky. Lakeview is very good for young professionals and pets but is definitely pricier. Wrigleyville is even more expensive, but has good nightlife and restaurants. All three are super easy to access transit from and get to the Chicago campus.
I love how convenient the location is. There's a ton of great restaurants really close by, so many bus lines right around the corner or within a 5 minute walk, and Lincoln Park right across the street. My commute downtown is only 15 minutes and there's also a bus available to get to the brown and purple L trains. There's a Mariano's, Trader Joe's, and Target all within 10 minute walking distance so shopping is very convenient. I generally feel really safe walking in this area as the streets are busy and well lit.
Similar crowd (young professionals), close to the lake, parks nearby, safe, accessible grocery stores and shops and restaurants.
Quiet, very residential, mostly families because of the great CPS schools nearby
Lakeview is a great spot for young professionals and those looking for an active social life. The area comes alive in the summer with baseball games and is not far from beaches and great shopping and eating areas.
Lakeview has plenty of beautiful, tree-lined neighborhoods and a robust bar and restaurant scene. It is a destination neighborhood with tons of boutiques, Wrigley Field, and a welcoming environment. I chose to live here because I am gay and wanted to have very easy, direct access to the lakefront path for running and biking.
The main reason we moved here was the neighborhood. Broadway, Clark, Diversey and Belmont are all within walking distance and offer all of the shops, restaurants, bars and grocery stores you could need. It really is in a prime, unbeatable location. Not to mention it's a block from Lake Michigan and walking distance to Lincoln Park and a short bike ride from Montrose Beach.
My street and neighborhood are usually fairly quiet. Sundays seem to be the going out day in the neighborhood but it isn't disruptive to my every day life. Overall it seems like a very safe area and being a young woman living alone, that is very important. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
