Good Neighborhood
It's a great neighborhood and the owners who rent their condos are very responsive. The staff is excellent and long-serving. But it is definitely an older building, lacking modern amenities. The units on the H st side have excellent exposure to the sun.

Bon Wit = Basic
The best thing about the Bon Wit is that it is close to everything. The law school is exactly 4 blocks away (7-9 minute walk depending on how lazy you feel/number of lights you hit). Trader Joes is a 5min walk and the metro is 2 blocks over. Each condo is individually owned so they all look different. Mine has old appliances and no dishwasher but my friend down the hall lives in a renovated unit so it just depends. Its a pet-free building with one washer & dryer unit on each floor (there are about 10-12 units per floor). Each floor also has a trash shoot & recycling bins. I wish more than anything there was as study area/ business center because I can't study in my Apt. There are no real amenities to speak of, no gym or pool etc. You might be able to have a parking spot if the owner of your unit has one. There is always someone at the front door but that is really more to ask them for your packages or to let you in if you forgot your key than for security. All in all I would say if you're thinking about the BonWit come check it out, each apt I've seen has looked different. I live in a 2 bedroom corner unit so there are huge windows and extra floor space. Splitting with my roommate I pay $1,400 in rent and 35 for internet.

Convenient location to GW-average apartment!
Bon Wit Plaza is a condo complex so each unit is different and owned by the actual tenant, a landlord, or a management company. Security is good-though the doorman can be a bit liberal with letting people in on the weekends. There are washers and dryers on every floor for pay for use. The building is maintained well. The landlord for my unit is great to work with. I found the listing on Craigslist! The complex is a block from the hospital and metro so it can be loud but it is very convenient to be near GW and the metro.

If you're looking for convenience, this location is perfect
This building is the perfect location for GW Law students because it is just a straight shot down H Street and you're at school - about 8 minutes, max. It's also 3 minutes from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop and Whole Foods, which has been wonderful. Otherwise, the apartment itself isn't anything spectacular. My unit in particular was a one-bedroom, and the landlord built a wall to make it a two-bedroom - so there is almost no living room space. The rooms are big enough, but the closet space in the rooms is small. The closet space outside of the rooms is good, though. The kitchen is tiny but has all of the necessary appliances and generally gets the job done. My landlord even fit in a tiny dishwasher, which is cute. Because of the addition of the new wall, my living room gets absolutely NO sunlight, except what creeps through the windows my landlord put at the top of the wall. The units are all individually owned, co-op style, so every unit's amenities and lease depend on your landlord. The people who work at the building are great. They are always good with packages. The building manager is a good guy who seems to genuinely want to help his tenants. There is no gym here, but if you're a GW student it's about a 4 minute walk to the GW gym, so that hasn't been bad. It is literally down the street from the ambulance entrance for the GW University Hospital, so get ready to hear some sirens. I do feel safe in the area and the building. Someone is at the front 24/7 and the front door is always locked. For what it is, it's outrageously overpriced - but by Foggy Bottom standards it's "reasonable."

Great Overall Experience
Great location, 2 blocks from Foggy Bottom Metro station and 2 blocks from whole foods. The building doesn't have many amenities, but my unit is completely renovated. 5 minute walk from the law school.
