Great Place, But A Bit Pricey

I have lived at this apartment complex for the last three years. I enjoy it, but the rent is a bit steep for the area. There are two gyms on the complex, which are well-maintained and have plenty of equipment. There are also two swimming pools as well. Maintenance is usually relatively quick at responding to requests, but sometimes the leasing office can be a bit difficult to work with. It is also only a 10 minute drive to campus.

Decent

The management is pretty good but we have had constant problems with neighbors and a leak that is a result of the AC. Pretty good for the price though.

Good

Overall, pretty good. We have had to spray for roaches some. Not an infestation or anything, but one bug is too many. However, I live in a townhome built in the 1970s as opposed to the new build apartments the complex also offers - so unsure that the apartments have the same issue.

Stay Far Away

I've lived in many apartments here in Richmond since graduating from VCU. This has got to be one of the worst apartments I've ever lived in, not mention most expensive. I chose to live here because I wanted a town house that rid me of hearing upstairs neighbors. Boy was I wrong, how is it possible to have a 1 br townhouse but still have to hear your next-door neighbors above you because they have a 2 br townhouse that extends over your kitchen and living room. So, you constantly think someone is upstairs with you. This is also one of the most heavily pest infested homes I've lived in. It literally feels like theres a hole at the bottom and top of your apartment the way you have to deal with an array of pest. It feels like you're living outside the way I had to deal with pest here. There were ants and gnats coming from every drain in the apartment. The roaches here come any and all sizes, but you'll mostly see the big outdoor roaches inside your place. I dealt with ants, spiders and gnats in the kitchen, living room and even the bathrooms. They never really cared to do a full extermination until the month I was ready to move out as I assumed they just wanted to get ready for the next tenants. Because I would ask repeatedly for an extensive pest service, and they would only send the pest man to do a regular routine which they won't even go up to treat the second floor neither. To make matters worse they are liars, they told me the pool was open all year, that is not true, open only for a few months. They'll tell you they have no pest problem as that was the first thing I asked before moving, a lie. And worst of all, but least surprising is they are money hungry. These townhouses are obviously not worth what they are going for, I got locked out once and they told me I had to call a locksmith and spend nearly $200 to get into my rented apartment because they don't offer lock out services after office hours. Then when you move out, they still try to rip you off and charge you for anything. They charged me $50 to replace drip pans on the stove (never ever have I had an apartment place that does not replace them on their own accord as the property owners!). They then charged me over $150 for carpet cleaning and I don't have any kids or pets to have made any damage that required me to be responsible for them cleaning their carpets as the property owners. 0/10 experience. I will make sure to never rent from Weinstein Properties as they do not care about their tenants, and I hope you don't have to end up stuck here like I had to. Stay very far away.

Standard apartment living

Standard apartment, nothing too special about it. Neighbors are kind of loud.

Kings crossing

Overall Kings Crossing is a great place to live, there have been some concerns with maintenance and some issues with that, but management has been wonderful in helping resolve issues.

Nice place, not great management.

Not friendly to pet owners, will hound you over any noise you make. Buildings are nice, neighborhood is becoming questionable. Have seen incidents with several police cars showing up 3 times in the past year, last one had 15+ officers with riot shields.

Affordable with some places to improve

Overall this location can’t be beat. I only have three negatives to report.

1) There is high turnover in the office so communication can be disorganized.
2) Our washer and dryer get the job done but are not so great. Constantly rips off buttons and has a tough time drying at times.
3) There is a bit of a Varmint problem here. Granted, this part of Virginia is know for bugs, however, we’ve had roach issues and a friend that lived in a bigger unit had bats.

Despite these negatives the distance to campus, groceries, major highways, and interesting parts of the city is wonderful. Nothing is ever too far of a drive and this property is pretty quiet.

Great Pick

My experience with my apartment over the last year and a half almost has been great. I got lucky to have a great roommate and we have been so happy with everything in our apartment. The apartment has a lot of space in most of the rooms and has a lot of storage. The bathrooms are nice and spacious and there is more than enough room for two people. My only complaint would be that there is not much counterspace or storage in the kitchen that is accessible. Some of the counterspace and cupboards are cut off by the refrigerator. Otherwise I have no complaints. The neighborhood is great for walking around and has a nice playground and nice amenities such as a gym, a pool, and free printing.

Great Place to Live!

The townhouse that I live in is great. It is very spacious and has lots of natural light downstairs. We also have a fenced-in yard which has been very useful. A great place to be if you're looking for somewhere that is on the quieter side.

I made several trips to Richmond to visit potential places to live and this was my favorite. I was looking for a place that is quiet, safe, and with a reasonable drive to class each day. It takes me 12-15 minutes to go from my front door to parking on campus, and my route is never backed up with the traffic that people in other parts of Richmond complain about!

My favorite thing about my quality of life here is that I live a 1-2 minute drive from Target, Kroger, Food Lion, Panera, Starbucks, CVS, Aldi, Wawa and more! It's so close that you can walk if you want to - I've done it on occasion. If you are looking for close proximity to restaurants and nightlife, this area in general is probably not what you're looking for. But if you want a quiet and safe neighborhood with easy access to convenient shopping, definitely consider this neighborhood!
Across from a business district. Grocery and shopping aren't too far away, but the location itself doesn't provide an authentic experience of Richmond. It is much more quiet than if you were to live in the Fan, but also lacks the experiences that come with that.
Not really a lot to do around my neighborhood, but it is close to school and a grocery store. Short pump is about 15 minutes away and downtown is about 20 so it is not too bad if you do want to do something.
Lots of grocery stores and chain restaurants in the area. Very safe. It may not be as exciting as the downtown area, but it is only a 10-minute drive away with the highways, and I would trade the excitement of downtown for the quietness of my current area. Not a lot of sidewalks if you want to go for a long walk or run though
It's quiet, cute, and generally safe. Commute is easy. A little far away from everything, but as long as the pandemic is going on I'm not sure exactly how much we're missing.

Drawback: you MUST drive anywhere you want to go. Nothing is walking distance, unless you want to walk along a major road (you don't).
Decent place. Lot of “lower income” people but some long term residents as well. Most people are cordial but not looking for friends.
I like how I am only a few minutes away from anything I need. I am very close to shopping areas on W Broad. It is also a short drive downtown. I feel like I can get anywhere in Richmond in 20 minutes.
I personally love living in this area. It’s safe and quiet, but still super close to both school and the city! There’s a lot of grocery options close by, as well as nearby parks.
