John Evans Building reviews and highlights
- Kitchen appliances aren't new, but work well
- Quiet surrounding area
- Vintage building, but well maintained
- Great value per square foot
- Very close to Whole Foods
- Utilities included
- Elevator is really small
- Laundry room in the basement can be a little difficult to access
- Great location
Vintage in a good location for a good price
Not the biggest building but a good number of Kellogg students. Older building and it shows but well maintained. Can get a little drafty in the winter. Great location, but off the beaten path enough to be quiet.

1600 Hinman Ave. is where it's at
1600 Hinman is a really great location within close walking distance to most places of interest in Evanston and just a few blocks from Lake Michigan. It's also close to campus (walking to Jacobs Center in about 12 minutes and biking in 4 minutes). It's definitely in the "vintage" category, but the value is absolutely worth it. Calling my apartment a studio isn't really the best description because it is massive and technically includes multiple rooms. The neighbors are all Northwestern/Kellogg students and management is always accommodating!

Great value for the space in a vintage building
The only caution is that the laundrymat in the building is old and not easily accessible.
