Bang for your Buck
The Meridian has stellar amenities and bigger apartments. Definitely a better value than a DC apartment, as long as you are willing to commute. I have an 8 minute walk to the courthouse metro in the morning that is not bad at all.

Much better now that it's renovated
I have lived there for 1.5 years. The renovated apartments are 100% better than the non renovated. The price is only manageable with a person living in the sun room. The management needs to be improved. The people in the leasing office don't have it together.

Meridian is pretty good
The Meridian is a nice place to live. I share a one bedroom with my roommate. She gets the bedroom, and I get the sunroom. However, the sunroom was made as a sunroom, not a bedroom - it gets very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. The apartment is beautiful. I love it. It is just two blocks from the metro and a block away from the police department. I feel very safe here.

Meridian Courthouse
Great amenities, cheap construction and doors, pretty noisy hallways. The granite counter tops are high quality, but there's no real vent fan in the kitchen and the sun room isn't insulated. Pretty expensive overall, but nothing too unusual for the area. Small gym for the number of tenants.

Rosslyn Reviews
However, this has been a business district for ages. There is very little going on around here and many of the restaurants don’t even open on the weekends. But, that’s changing. So stay tuned!
(Also, I like living in Virginia because my vote counts for more here!)
If you have long legs, renting a bike is an option. If you are like me and 5'1'', renting a bike is an option for downhill rides.
There is a lot within walking distance in Rosslyn (think 20 min average from my apt): Barnes and Noble, shopping, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (also on the Arlington loop shuttle from GU), public libraries, CVS, Target, Safeway, lots of restaurants.
Also close to dense populations of immigrant communities if you like Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean food.
Cons: Neighborhood shuts down after 5pm. Few restaurants in the neighborhood itself (this is getting better though). Concrete canyon effect because of the skyscrapers. Closest grocery store is an expensive Safeway.
