Great Place in a Great Location
This apartment complex is in an excellent area: Broad Ripple. Broad Ripple neighborhood has a ton of restaurants, bars, and shops. It's got the amenities of downtown without the clutter and expense. That said, the area is getting more expensive to live in. That's one of the reasons I like Broad Ripple Trails. I can live in a great neighborhood without paying a steep rent. For example, downtown I'd probably run $1000-1400 for the same set up (2 bed/1 bath + parking) but here I pay <$1000/m.
It's only a 20min (from door to door) drive to IUPUI, where I go to school, and a super easy commute. No highway unless you want to, but the main roads are just as fast.
As far as the apartment complex: free parking for you and for your guests. You have the option to rent a covered parking space for $10/m if you desire, though. But I've never had an issue finding a spot close to my door.
The complex has 2 pools. I like going there in the summer with my friends. Since there are two pools, they never get terribly crowded.
Additionally, the apartments all have private balconies, which I adore. I like to sit on the balcony and relax, read, or study. You can also personalize it with lights and plants and furniture. They are quite spacious for a private balcony!
While the buildings are older, the leasing company cares about investing in the property. I've lived here for nearly 3 years and during that time the siding on all the buildings were replaced and potholes were filled in the parking lot. Maintenance requests have been few, but when I needed it, maintenance requests were always addressed within 24 hours. They also have an emergency maintenance line that's responsive.
Laundry is shared on the bottom floor of each building and the machines take debit/credit cards, which is very convenient. I've found my neighbors to be very considerate for the most part. Worst thing that happens is someone forgets to move their clothes along occasionally.
All in all, I like this spot. I renewed my lease for another year. I can see myself staying here until I graduate school.
