It's great for the price and location!

I live right behind Trader Joe's. The apartment is spacious, and all units are in the process of being renovated. I have a dishwasher and stainless steel appliances. There's also a walk in closet in my bedroom. The cons are that the building is still quite old (I keep finding centipedes...) and there's constantly work being done. Ventilation is also quite little-- I have a cat with a litter box, and it's difficult because there's no fan or exhaust anywhere in the apartment.

Very happy so far

I’ve lived here for a little over a year and have been very happy. Apartments are being renovated as previous tenants move out so all new tenants will have a renovated apartment. The leasing company has been great to work with and very responsive to concerns and any maintenance requests have been completed super quickly. About a 5-10 minute drive to the hospital but there is a bus stop within a 5 minute walk from my unit that takes you directly to the med school/hospital which is really nice.

Great apartment, slow maintainence

The apartment is right behind trader joes in a quiet residential neighborhood. There are buses nearby that go to campus and plenty of parking. I live on the top floor which is key - otherwise you would likely hear lots of noise from people walking around on top of you. The walls between apartments are very good at soundproofing. The apartment is cheaper than those that come with amenities like a gym or pool, but there are great places to run outdoors here. Very pet friendly, nice landlords. Lots of apartments come with balconies. Only issues are few and expensive laundry machines, and somewhat slow maintenance responses. However, everything works really well so we don't need lots of maintenance. No utilities are included though so factor that into pricing. Probably ideal for couples, people with pets especially dogs, or anyone looking not to hear undergrads partying.

Hayman Company Is Awful

The apartment complex itself is in a nice location outside of downtown and nestled in a quiet neighborhood with a large park a block away. And that is how they suck you in. Management is rude, incompetent, and uncommunicative. I entered and signed my leasing agreement under the previous owners and was never told that management changed and therefore the leasing agreement had also been unilaterally altered. They tried to prevent me moving in because I hadn’t complied with new terms of the lease (that I never knew existed!). A few examples of my living experience: the dumpster regularly has maggots in the summer, every minor construction project takes at least 6 months (and ends up not improving anything but our rent has to increase), my building has been missing a step for the outside staircase for over a year, we never know when the laundry room will actually have washer/dryers inside (they get removed without any notice or reason provided), and have I mentioned the staff is universally R-U-D-E? One manager didn’t even wear a mask (during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic) for an indoor meeting without social distancing (“I can’t find it.”). Oh, and this isn’t just my opinion, every resident I have spoken with is disappointed, dissatisfied, and disenchanted. I did a little research when I recently saw Google reviews for 5 stars all posted around September 2020 and discovered that each one was posted by a Hayman employee. They still only manage to eek out a 3-star total even after padding the stats. I cannot stress this enough DO NOT COME HERE.

Nice Size

Apartments are a nice size with a good amount of closet space and reasonably priced. Very short walk to trader joes and other shops. Neighborhood is very safe. Bus transportation is very easy and convenient. Nice courtyards for dogs.

Management seems to turnover a lot, but they do a good job and I haven't had big problems. Maintenance workers have been hit or miss.
