Not the greatest place to live
Moved in to a dirty apartment that had the previous tenant's belongings and paint ripped from walls. Not a great area of Pittsburgh either.
Great apartments!
I live near the airport because I wanted to afford living alone! My apt is 850sqft with a balcony. It genuinely feels big, open, bright, and clean! I have a walk in closet, in unit washer and dryer, and storage closet on the balcony. My apt is specifically cheaper bc it still has carpet (but I also pay pet rent for 2 cats). I feel safe here! The apt also comes with a privacy lock and alarm system. The apt complex also is gated. Management has been kind and responsive. There's a creek nearby so it does come with a few bugs here and there, but being persistent during summer helps a lot and I dont really have to worry abt it. There's a small gym, two pickle ball courts, dog parks, and pool.
21 Rio Review
I moved in and they never cleaned my apartment. There was damage left to be repaired
Great Complex
Been at Torreyana for almost 5 months. Really like it so far.
Pros:
-responsive maintenance (usually come to repair issues no later than the next day)
-pretty good gym (has enough equipment for beginners)
-common areas are kept clean
-apartment is renovated and has smart-home features (smart a/c, lights and door lock)
-complex feels welcoming and peaceful (lots of big trees, very quiet for the most part)
Cons:
-kind of far from campus (~20-25 min)
-rent is a bit pricey
-surrounding area is not that great (but still not terrible)
Bad management
Bad management with unclean, outdated apartments. Noisy street and building. Definitely not luxury apartments like described
Good, some quirks
The building is mainly young professionals and graduate students. The gym is great. Pros: closeness to campus and downtown, rent is reasonable for a luxury apartment, gym has Pelaton. Cons: thin walls (but that is any apartment), noise from 5th Ave traffic, elevator does break down often but is usually fixed within a day.
Flats on Fifth review
Rooms are wonderful. Parking is limited and you will not usually have a spot immediately. There is a parking lot across the street that you can pay for monthly. Doors are locked and you are given a key fob to scan. You must also use the fob to get into the elevator. Overall it is a great apartment which is very close to campus.
Great if you can afford it
Modern, well maintained building with all the bells and whistles. The neighborhood is being very slowly gentrified so there are some nice buildings going up but not many businesses. There is a gas station with booze right next door though, pretty clutch.
Great apartments
my apt is 850 sqft and I think it's amazing! There are bug problems, but I feel like that's expected since it's like within this little forest. I really love it! It is right next to the airport, but you don't hear planes. It's a 14-18 min drive to and from campus usually, but about 30 minutes during rush hour (before my 8am class). It also has an alarm system which is cool
Great but probably overpriced
It has a nice gym, two pools, and the apartment itself is very solid. Its spacious and looks new. My biggest issue with the apartment itself is that the bathroom can only be accessed through the bedroom, which is inconvenient. I'm also definitely overpaying for rent at 1800/month.
We've enjoyed our time and would rec to others
Maintenance is quick and friendly, front office is nice, 3 pools, gym is great, parcel locker so packages don't get stolen, home security system with an app to unlock or lock the doors
Nice Place
It's definitely expensive but I always feel safe and I like how modern it is. Comes with everything you need, washer, dryer, microwave, and dishwasher. Sometimes they throw little parties with free drinks and food (they don't skimp on the catering). The gym is not much but it works in a pinch
Lovely Apartment
Amazing, large apartment in walking distance to campus. Far enough away from downtown that it is not too loud at night, but close enough to still have good views. There is a gym in the building and a parking garage for extra rent each month
Great apartment, not a great location!
I love the apartment itself and is definitely cheaper than most "luxury" apartments in more desirable neighborhoods. The apartment itself is a few years old but seems new. The management has always been responsive and considerate.
Super close to barco
Water gets hot, and fast. Nice balcony. Lots of space. Super nice maintenance guy. Very attentive management
