amazing place to live!!!!
AMAZING location, right in the middle of Rittenhouse Square with the best bar and restaurant scene in the city. Right across from a Capital One cafe that always has space to work, and one block from a Starbucks. 2 blocks from a small grocery store, Target, and CVS. Trader Joe's is a 15-minute walk. 3 blocks from the subway BSL line. The 42 and 21 busses pick up literally right outside of the apartment and and drop off at the campus and hospital!! The building itself has 24/7 doormen, feels very secure, elevators are super quick, and management is very responsive. The apartments are so big, especially for the price. There's a small gym in the basement - nothing crazy but it gets the job done. Overall, 10/10 would recommend!!!! Only con is that because it's so close to the park, it gets really loud during the day with traffic and performers. However, it gets loud in the living room but the bedroom has good sound-proofing and I've never been woken up by outside noise from the bedroom.
Great
Great location. Decent gym. Electricity was around $40 per month.
A bit noisy and the fire alarm went off falsely about 5times in the year. all else was great for the price point.
Great place!
My partner and I just moved in a few months ago but we really like it so far! It's a doorman building (they are all super nice), they accept your packages so they're never stolen, and you need a fob or keycode to get into the building so it feels very safe. The doorman used to be 24/7 but they recently switched it so that there is no doorman between the hours of 11pm and 6am. Rent is super reasonable for the location being just a block away from the park! There's also a small gym in the basement available to all residents (small but gets the job done for most things). The management has been super responsive to maintenance questions and requests. It can get a little noisy in the living room because it's on Walnut but at least in my apartment, the bedroom is very quiet (not sure how they work that magic!)
great value for money
false fire alarm twice this semester.
they removed front desk people for 10pm upwards I think.
overall like the place, and at its price point, it is a steal.
No frills, great location, in unit W/D
- easy access to the 42 and 21 bus to work
- relatively quiet area if above the 5th floor but much louder than grad hospital area
- so many nearby food options
- street parking is difficult (usually park 10-12 min walk away)
- combo w/d isn’t the most efficient- doesn’t dry well

1700 Walnut Review
Old building, good location, large apartments, nothing special
Good space and location
Perfect location, except for the noise from being close to walnut street. Apartments are spacious, but the building lacks common spaces.
Good price for what it is, but can hear street noise from 6th floor unit
The unit is nice with in-unit laundry, dishwasher, nice finishes, great location, gym, responsive management, and large windows. However, I am on the 6th floor facing the alley, and I can hear noise as if the windows are open. Usually it's fine, but there are early morning trash pickups around 6-7am many days a week (even weekends). If you are a light sleeper or not an early riser, I would reconsider this option. Perhaps the units on a higher floor or facing the street are better though.
Good deal
Pretty good place to live given the great location and size of the apartment. Has hardwood floors, new appliances and nice front desk staff. It can get a little noisy on the street occasionally but nothing too bad. I have no noise complaints about neighbours, walls are pretty soundproof. Management is fine, run by a smaller number of staff. They have a small gym which is clean, never crowded and fine if you don’t require a variety of machines at the gym.
Great price for location; management is okay
Management is not that great, but the rent is very reasonable for the space. There aren't amenities like a rooftop or nice gym, but the price for being one block away from Rittenhouse Square is great.
Great building for those willing to trade building ammenities for sq footage
Apt is great; location is great; doormen are friendly; limited building ammenitites; one warning to light sleepers: noise is high around rittenhouse square (can be solved with something that generates white noise)
Large space and great location
+Huge windows with lots of great light
+Ton of space for a 1 bedroom
+Plenty of closet space
+Maintenance is very responsive
+Large kitchen with built-in microwave
+In unit laundry
+Location can't be beat
-Single pane windows = lots of street and alley noise and high electric bills
-Building lacks amenities of others nearby in same price range (no gym/ common space)
No frills building but great location
Pros:
-Huge apartment - large living space and large bedroom
-1.5 baths
-Large kitchen with plenty of counter space for cooking
-Well maintained
-Friendly doormen
-Washer/dryer in unit
-Lots of closet storage
-Large windows and high ceilings
-Utilities have been very reasonable
-accepts pets
Cons:
-No gym or bike storage
-Fully carpeted (except kitchen and bath)
-Washer/dryer could be bigger
-Lots of white (all white paint, cabinets, carpet)
-Single pane windows which can let much of the alleyway noise up

Wonderful apartment building, perfect location, never any issues, 24/7 security. The staff take care of matters very promptly and are attentive to needs. Heart of the city -- what more could anyone want? Installed a new washer immediately when ours went down. Love it here!
