Apartment complex is nice and very convenient since it is located next to UTK campus. It is on the higher end of prices, but it comes with a therapy room, meditation room, and a gym for the complex.

The Citizen Experience

10 management rating Reviewed by on

I have loved living in the Citizen so far. All of my apartment amenities are new and upgraded, and they also have large floor length windows in the apartments, which is nice for natural light when having to study all day. I also love how it’s only about a 6 minute drive to school and an easy drive, straight down Union Avenue. It makes commuting very simple and more encouraging to go to campus daily. I would say the management here is the best part. They are so kind and caring and will always go out of their way to address any concerns. We also have nice amenities, and the building feels safe because it is locked at all times and need key fob for entry. They have free parking which is great, or you can pay a little bit more monthly for the gated parking garage. The only downsides have been a couple of false fire alarms at inconvenient times, and it might be a little bit pricier than other apartments in the area.

Nice place, relatively clean and quiet minus the fire station right next door. Extremely expensive.

Feels like an expensive hotel

The facility is very nice and they fix everything really quickly. There is a clubhouse with multiple tvs and a pool table. Also, a swimming pool, gym, and yoga room. The reception area has a coffee bar. There are also study rooms and conference rooms. Its also only a ten minute walk to UTK Law Campus.

Pros and Cons of 50 Peabody

5 management rating Reviewed by on

The property is in a convenient location for law students to commute to the law school. The property is a secured location as well, in order to enter the property you must have a key fob. However, on the down side, the ventilation in the apartment is poor. You can smell what your neighbors are cooking and as well as what they are smoking. This would probably be the only reason why I move to a different property when my lease ends.

Great apartment if you have a car.

Overall great apartment but traveling to campus and the city might be difficult without a car.

Would NOT recommend

The apt complex had nothing but issues. The staff was non-responsive. For over 3 year I had water excessively leaking into my apt that was NEVER repaired. This developed into respiratory issues. The staff will respond about a 1/3 of the time. Elevator is broken half the time. Trash is everywhere and never picked up. Power went out constantly. The A/C unit is so old that the apt could not get below 75 degrees in the summer. Like everything, it was never repaired. This place was a constant source of stress because I knew nothing would be fixed. To top it off, I was charged over 6k when moving out. To note- I have never been charged from a rental in the 15 years I have been renting. Charges included new carpet, tile, paint, and hardwoods of the entire apartment. The place is beyond corrupt. If I warn one person from moving here, then I'll sleep better at night. I hope no one has to go through what I did. Truly the worst experience of my life.

The Rise is great!

10 management rating Reviewed by on

I really enjoy living at The Rise. I am close to school and in the warm months I like walk to school since I have felt really safe in the area. The environment in the apartment complex is really nice. The parking is great, they have a nest area with a gate for extended security in the paring garage, you need your sensor to access all doors, it has a gym, a lounge area, and a pool. They also offer valet trash Sunday-Thursday, and the company is really great at communication through email and in person at the leasing office. I recommend!

Older but safe, spacious apartment. Good amenities. Excellent location

5 management rating Reviewed by on

Old building, but in the process of being redone (paint job, carpeting). The apartment floorplans are very spacious. This is the best location in Nashville in my opinion -- 25 minute walk to Vanderbilt, which is mostly pleasant; a few minutes away from restaurants, grocery stores; in a busy area but on a quiet street. There is a small gym in the building that is rarely packed. The pool is lovely. Management is fair, mostly responsive.
