3737 Chestnut Review
3737 Chestnut
Great place with few caveats
3737 Chestnut Pros and Cons:
Pros:
Close to campus and the law school
Great amenities
Responsive management
Cons:
Expensive and does not include any utilities
In the middle of a construction zone
The trash chute is broken a lot of the times
Great but expensive
Great building, always safe, and very friendly staff. Just very expensive!!!
Pepper building
Safe, quiet area. 10 minute bus ride (the 40 bus stops right out front). 25 minute walk. 5 minute walk to rittenhouse. Very quiet building, responsive management/maintenance. Nice gym.
The Pepper
I have really enjoyed living in this apartment. It is very conveniently located ~25 minute walk to HUP main or you can hop on the 40 bus right outside of the apartment on Lombard st. It's a very close walk to good restaurants/bars, but it still feels like you're in a neighborhood and it's quiet. It is located right next to the sim center/rehab center which you go to 2-3x per year, which is convenient but you don't feel like you're living at work. The gym is great in the basement and management has been super responsive to questions and work orders. It may be a little overpriced but everything in the area has been rising in prices so I don't think it's outrageous. Overall, I would recommend living here!
The Pepper Building Review
Great place
Hidden fees and unresponsive management
Management place fees outside of the agreed upon rent inside your bill and it’s very difficult to get a hold of them. They also don’t respond to maintenance requests, items stay broken and sanitation is an issue, pest infestation
Far too Expensive
The property managers and leasing office are extremely nice and helpful. When issues arise they are quick to respond and very friendly. However, the rent spiked this year and is absolutely absurd for what the building/space is.
Pepper building
Great apartment for a couple, may be slightly out of price range for singles. Building has its own gym and secure package delivery.
location
Important to be close to the school. I do not have a car, so being close to the university and classes was important to me.
Just outside the Wharton bubble
Loved the fact that the building is quiet yet a stone's throw away from everything that makes your MBA life in Philadelphia.
Bus 40 that goes to Huntsman / Steinberg and Pottruck is 10 feet away (not kidding).
Lots of good restaurants and bars in the area.
GIANT and other grocery stores are a 10 minute walk.
Also very convenient if you have a bike... something I use everyday.
3737 Chestnut
This is such an amazing apartment. It is a 10 minute walk from the dental school and so many dental students live here. The rooms are very nice and are lined with windows so there is a lot of sunlight. There is a gym, study rooms, and a rooftop. All of the people who work here are very nice and can help you with anything.
3737 Chestnut Review
Nice apartment, fast service requests
Perfect Apartment If In Your Price Range
Extremely nice apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows, in-unit laundry, stone countertops, walk-in closet, spacious kitchen storage, amazing views, and easy access to septa that takes you throughout the city. My only qualm about the gym is that it doesn't have a free-weight bench, but it does have a smith machine and is almost always empty! You really can't get better than this! If desiring an apartment in university city close to campus, I would look no farther. However, I think the niceness can be excessive and you can find apartments for half the price elsewhere.

Amazing management, extremely quick to respond to any issues, nice study rooms, pet friendly, wonderful front desk who collects packages, and graduate students only so not noisy
