Have really enjoyed living at The Andover. The staff is excellent and it is a doorman building so safety is good. The floorplans are also spacious. One thing is that laundry is in the building but not in unit and it is expensive.

Feel safe in a building with many tenants

The staff is amazing here. Everything gets taken care of immediately, and everyone is very friendly. Decent gym and laundry room. A great location overall, close to grocery stores, gyms, dry cleaners, banks, bars, restaurants and the East River promenade.

The only downside is that it's not extremely close to the subway, but there are several buses running to different parts of the city, including the 79 crosstown bus (connects to the 6 train) and the 31 bus (drops you off close to the new 2nd avenue train)

Paramount Tower is a fabulous place to come home to every day. The apartment is spacious for a 1 bedroom and a great price for the location. Just 5 minutes walk from Grand Central Station and close to bars/restaurants. Staff are fantastic! Indoor gym/pool a plus!

Sometimes the doormen are really on point, sometimes they aren't. The package room is only open certain hours. Good luck getting your package if they haven't checked it in. Tiny, fairly useless gym. Laundry room is great. People keep to themselves, building is very quiet. Some homeless people on the walk home, but generally pretty safe. Very close to the subway and whole foods, which is basically everything important. The building isn't a huge fan of fixing things, but things break often. So it can be a bit of a chore getting everything working in your apartment, but the good thing is that they aren't breathing down your neck about anything either. Negotiate your rent. Hard. It's worth it.
