Great Value
Lived here for several years before GW Law as well. Right next to Long Bridge Park and Aquatics Center. ~10 minute walk to Crystal City metro; ~15 minutes to Pentagon City metro and mall; ~12 minute metro to campus. Close to restaurants on Crystal Drive and in Pentagon Row. Lots of carpet; appliances are functional but on the older side. Completely used to transit noises but building is adjacent to Amtrak/CSX train tracks and National Airport flight path. Orange Coast Guard helicopter flies by super low twice a day. Won't live in this building for the next 20 years but has been a great option right after undergrad.
Great location, okay appliances
Lived in this apartment for 3 years (May 2021-present); commuted to Archives for two years and to Foggy for one. ~10 minute walk from Crystal City metro. Close to Pentagon City mall, movie theatre, and restaurants on Crystal Drive. Appliances work fine but are somewhat dated. Upstairs neighbors (smaller children) stomp somewhat regularly. Newer horizontal neighbors occasionally party at 4:30am. Better value than in DC.
Fort Strong Villas - 1 Bedroom Review
I absolutely love living on the third/top floor on one of the Fort Strong Villas apartments. I have the best views of the picnic area, a lot of natural light, and wonderful neighbors. I also enjoy sitting out on my balcony when I telework or complete readings for graduate school. The apartment buildings are most certainly old and have a lot of old appliances. They do not provide a microwave, but the apartment itself is spacious, including ample closet space. They do not have any extra amenities like a pool or gym, but they do have center "courtyard" parking (for $35/month), free street parking, and allow pets for a monthly fee.
LOVE
I live on the 4th floor and have an amazing view of the park. The area is amazing and the unit itself has plenty of space.
Tons of space, few amenities.
Pros: Our two-bedroom apartment is massive - about 1000sqf plus a large balcony. It is a very pet-friendly community (we have a large lab). We have one designated parking space and all utilities are included in rent, which makes budgeting very easy. We also have a storage room in the basement. The maintenance and office teams are nice. We are about two blocks from a grocery store, a 12-min walk from the metro, and a 15-min walk to good bars/restaurants.
Cons: There are no (and I mean NO) amenities and the property is old. There is no gym, no pool, no outdoor gathering or grilling space, etc. There is one washer and one dryer in the basement to be shared by twelve apartments. The stove/oven is old and fairly unreliable. The bathrooms really need an update.
Overall: Great if your priorities are space, cheap rent ($1750 for two bedrooms with included utilities is pretty great), and pet friendly. If those aren't your main goals, go somewhere else.
Cityline at Tenley Review
Amazingly Convenient, Pricy for Size
Cityline at Tenley
COVID has caused all the amenities to close (i.e. gym, sitting areas, and outdoor patios). Sometimes getting mail also takes a while, and there have been complications with accidental pickups for other apartment's mail as a result of COVID no-contact mail collection. But overall the apartment complex has been very good about social distancing and protecting the inhabitants of the complex.
Prosperity Flats Review
Very close to the metro and great, responsive management

Great apartment + community, long commute
My biggest issue is the commute. In the morning it is fine- it usually take 15-20 minutes to get to capital one's HQ building. In the evening, from around 4:45 - 6, it takes about 30 minutes or even longer due to traffic. I think this is pretty common if you live anywhere far from the office - it is just an annoying aspect of living here. It is about a 10 minute walk from the orange line, but that does not go directly to Capital One - you would have to transfer in East Falls Church.
The people in this community are fantastic, and there are not too many issues with noise as the walls are concrete. This is near many storage facilities, so sometimes I will hear noise from those facilities once or twice at night (usually, this is not an issue). I also have occasionally heard some noise from my neighbor (again, this is usually not an issue).
They have a lot of fun events, and the property management is very responsive. Maintenance is very quick, and an emergency maintenance technician lives on site and is very responsive. Property management has had issues with charging me for parking incorrectly, and with changing my parking spots due to their parking spot system. It's near the mosaic district as well, which is a nice area.
Prosperity Flats Review
Excellent place to live
Huge windows, Convenient location.
Great view of the city, but still very green. Plenty of food options within walking/biking distance - but nit many bars. The building used to be pretty diverse, but it's become a lot of young college or grad students and young professionals. Gym is kind of small. Make sure to get an updated unit. Super safe, great location without being too close to the bars but close enough that you could walk home if you really needed to. Maintenance staff is awesome!- always super responsive and do great work.
Great value in Reston
A little far from Washington, but not without its charms. The location is convenient to the metro, which is a major plus. It's also near restaurants and shopping, while providing decent transportation options to the international airport and to the area malls. It's safe, and relatively quiet, if that's important to you. While by no means is it cheap, you get parking and more bang for your buck than comparable places in Arlington.
Balcony Views
I love my building - I rent from a condo owner. I have a washer dryer, huge closets, and an awesome balcony. Concierge service is great, they are friendly and attentive. The outdoor space on the roof is phenomenal, I spend a great deal of time up there in the warmer months.
Quiet and Conveniently Located
I love the apartment. Very quiet place to live and conveniently located with the park nearby and access to running trails. Water pipes tend to burst constantly and I pay for parking even though they never tow non-residents in the garage. Management team is responsive.
