Great Location; Ten Minute Bike to Campus
No apartment building is perfect but I am grateful for how safe the area around this apartment is and I have had a good experience with the leasing office. There have been some cars broken into in the parking garage in the last year. Residents have to fob to get into the building but not to get into the elevator, unfortunately. I bike to campus in ten minutes every day. Also, I appreciate how I can walk downtown because I am located just at the end of the Gulch. The biggest issue with this apartment complex is that there are not enough security cameras. And this might seem like a silly criticism but the second worst part about the building is the horribly strong air fresheners in the common areas.
Spacious and convenient
Apartments have a lot of space for the price, especially compared to others in the area. I stay in the largest 1bd1ba but there are other floor plans with less sqft for 1250+. Very close to school, only takes 5 minutes to drive there. Pool is nice but nothing special and the hot tub was removed from the property. Very pet friendly with a dog park. Huge indoor basketball court and club house, and decent gym.
Do not move into Firestone apartments
Living at Firestone has been a rollercoaster experience for me. While I will admit management has done a much better job here recently, we were having multiple break ins a week, our gate didn’t work for MONTHS, our pool had to be shut down due to being in violation of city ordinances, we have had swat at our apartments multiple times (even tear gassed my building once), we have had issues regarding felony convicts w/ active warrants being housed here, we have had domestic violence issues, and we have had 4 homeless people caught living in our attic and making peepholes into people’s living rooms. I would not recommend this complex to anyone.
Good location, bad building
Firestone has a great location. It’s close to the law school, a short trip to the cultural district and all its shops, and has easy access into the heart of downtown. In addition, it has the best gym of any apartment I’ve seen.
The building itself, however, is a mess. The maintenance is in shambles. I had no air conditioning when I moved in in the middle of the summer, and it took a month and a half to get it fixed despite calling every day. I have a hole in my windows and a broken condenser for my AC that have not been fixed in over a month currently either, in addition to myriad other small issues with the apartment that have not been fixed since I moved in. Also, it has a lot of homeless camping next to it, which makes walking to anything unpleasant.
I would strongly recommend against anyone staying here.
Solid Place!
Apartment just changed management and has made some great updates to the building! Units are also really nice, and the pool/gym are great, too.
Great Value
Not the cutest place ever, but Marquis is super great value.
It's gated, so I feel safe walking around as a woman at night. They have great maintenance that fix issues quickly and fully. The amenities are nice, including a gym, two pools, basketball courts, grills, and a mail room. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's located right off of Mopac, which helps cut down commute time if that's a concern.
We also really like the area! Sunset Valley feels like it further outside of the city than it really is. We're half a mile away from some nature trails that we enjoy, and we often will see deer and other wildlife on our runs out there.
Safe apartments in a great location
Relatively expensive apartments, definitely recommend roommates. Great location, directly next door to Trader Joe's and several restaurants, about 12 minutes to downtown. I've always felt safe to walk around the apartments, and there is a nice walking trail behind the complex. Overall I would recommend the apartment, just keep the price tag in mind.
You get what you pay for!
Spacious, pretty and comfy apartments. Clean and nice views. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Expensive though. Occassional issues with elevators / package room / garage doors, but fortunately nothing has impacted me.
Decent Location to Not Drive to Campus
The building is pretty good. I picked it without ever having been to Nashville before, which was really difficult. Besides there being several break-ins in the (secured access) parking garage, the area is really, really safe. It takes me 11 minutes to bike to campus or 30 minutes to walk to campus.
detailed and honest review for a great community
Location: a 15-20 min drive from Emory. On buford so easy access to H mart /doraville area
Security: apartment is gated and there is a second gate with a keycode around mailboxes
Parking: Free parking in surface lots outside apartment. Free guest parking in guest lot (5 min walk from farthest apartment in complex). If you get back to the complex late at night though spots are full and you have to park in the guest lot
Facilities: well maintained pool and gym
Packages: Luxer one system; all delivered to package room in leasing office. Secure but can be difficult to find your package.
Trash and recycling: picked up every evening
Communication: 5 stars for management here. They regularly send updates to the community. Urgent maintenance requests get fixed in a day.
Bugs: Have seen only 1 bug in my entire time living here, which is amazing considering Georgia.
Layout: No elevators. Each apartment has a balcony with an attached storage closet (does not connect to neighboring units). Lots of kitchen counter space and cabinets. There’s a fireplace; but no issue with bugs or draft. In unit washer and dryer.
Other: the pipes in this apartment are old. A few burst at one point causing the water to be shut off to the whole complex for a few days (it was supposed to be a few hours but while fixing one pipe another would burst, etc). However management was giving updates every few hours and provided water bottles to residents.
Changing management seems promising
Location is great, easy walk to downtown and only 15 minutes to the convention center. Gym is fairly well maintained with a good variety of equipment. Gated community is nice compared to other complexes downtown, although not all gates work consistently. Prior landlords were aggressive with towing non-resident visitors and occassionally towed residents. Pet rent is egregiously high at $50/month plus a nonrefundable deposit. Water temperature can be inconsistent at times due to the smaller water heaters. Living directly on 7th Street can be loud during the evening on weekends. New management acquired the complex in December 2022, and they seem easier to work with.
Really Nice Apt and Location
I have lived there for all 3 years of law school and have been happy overall. We have a restaurant/bar underneath the building which can get loud at times, but it’s not horrible. Amenities are great, nice pool, gym, high-end common room, dog park, package lockers, and valet trash service. I will say the elevators and entrydoors get messed up a lot which is annoying, but overall it’s been manageable.
Marq Uptown Review
Perfect for Law Students
Good management
I chose Marq because of the responsive and transparent management team. I feel like they are quick to answer questions and maintenance requests, and are quick to address issues in the building.
