Carrboro — 7.1/10 Rating (based on 28 neighborhood reviews)
Carrboro is really cool, if slightly offbeat place to be. Weaver St Market and a bevy of other restaurants/smaller places make it a good food hub. For things going on, there are things like the Carrboro Arts Fest, weekly "Carrboro Street Markets" with lots of vendors, and a flurry of other community-oriented activities.

Have enjoyed my time there.

I love Carrboro. I'm about 3/4 of a mile north of weaver street and the main Carrboro downtown. My neighborhood is very walkable and it's also very easy to get on my bike and out to more rural areas very quickly.

Carrboro is a great area. Although we are not walking distance to the main attractions of downtown Carrboro, it is still nice to be close by. I would highly recommend Carrboro for any grad students.

The neighborhood immediately surrounding the apartment is a little lame, but it's a quick 2 minute drive to downtown Carrboro or a 30 min walk. Also only 10 minutes to school

Pros: More mature residents, many options to eat and drink, fairly safe, quiet.

Cons: A little further away from school than Chapel Hill, rent is kind of pricey

Carrboro is a great little town. Hippie vibes. Great farmers market, co-op grocery store, regular grocery stores, bars, and restaurants.
You can't really walk from Bridges into town, but the J bus goes around through town out to the Carrboro apartment complexes.

Everyone's welcome! A lot of diversity and grad students - not particularly rowdy. Carrboro is appears safe during the day. Also mostly safe at night with the exception of a few spots where people loiter.

I like Carrboro more than Chapel Hill for the 30+ demographic. Relaxed restaurants, bars, breweries and the Weaver St. Market scene is always buzzy and friendly. A nice place to live for 2 years!

It is incredibly quiet at night and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, a farmers market, and grocery stores. The best part is it is just 7 minutes from campus.

I like being able to walk to buy groceries at Harris Teeter and bike to Franklin Street/nearby areas. It is a little farther from the center of activity, but is not so far away that it is difficult to get out.

The frequency of transit is somewhat lower however.
