Downtown Berkeley — 8.3/10 Rating (based on 9 neighborhood reviews)
It’s in the intersection of downtown and north Berkeley. The apartments is so safe nothing to worry about. But the main road is not that safe to walk at night, it’s always better to have company when walking around post 8 pm

Perfect distance from school so there are still students but not many undergrads, and there is a nice family neighborhood across the street. Safer than the rest of downtown Berkeley.

I don’t spend a lot of time outside of my apartment, but Telegraph is nearby and there are plenty of restaurants. But it’s a city, so expect some odd figures walking around at all hours!

Lots of restaurants and bustle, and conveniently located near public transit, the university campus, restaurants, stores, etc. Make sure you're aware of your surroundings (the same as any other urban environment).

Not the cleanest and may not feel the safest given the neighborhood residents. But it is convenient to UC Berkeley campus and the wealth of retail and food options.
