Glover Park
Residential and Cozy Neighborhood on the Outskirts of DC
Apart from Wisconsin Avenue which is a commercial street, Glover Park is very residential and homely with all its prime locations just a few blocks away. After work hours could be spent at the Breadsoda with its excellent beer while Weekends can be spent taking a stroll at the community gardens or watching Glover Park residents be part of the neighborhood softball league.
Reviewers say the cost of living is pretty high and there isn't much access to public transit, but it's very close to Georgetown and has plenty of dining options. It feels like more of its neighborhood as opposed to being one small section in a big city.

Glover Park —
8/10 Rating
(based on 58 neighborhood reviews)
Great family-friendly neighborhood with a lot of parks and green space. Downside is the lack of public transportation (no metro nearby). Lots of grocery stores and restaurants nearby and clean and safe environment.

I like this neighborhood, but it is quiet. If you are looking for a bustling DC experience, Glover Park is probably not your neighborhood. That said, for two grad students during a pandemic/insurrection, this has been the perfect spot. It's quiet, out of the fray, but I can walk to Dupont in about 40 minutes.

Glover park has everything you need - whole foods, safeway, CVS, great take out (dumplings and beyond), dry cleaners etc. It is very clean, neat and safe. Lots of busses are right there, but takes a little longer to get downtown since the metro is not right there. Overall though, I love glover park!

Glover Park is the ideal living situation for families and young professionals. In the neighborhoods off of Calvert, there is vitually no noise. There are lots of parks and wooded areas to go on walks, but a 5 minute walk to Wisconsin Ave will give you your choice of restaurants and nightlife.

Very clean, safe, a little bit more suburban than urban, but downtown isn't far. Lots of parks and greenery. Grocery store is a good 15 min walk and everything is walkable, but not super close. Overall, I loved living in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood is very quiet and seems to be family-oriented. There are always people out on a walk. Everything seems to be very safe.
The only downside is poor public transportation access. There are no metro stops nearby. There is one bus (D2) right outside, which goes to Dupont Circle. Buses like 30, 31, and 33 are also accessible by a short walk. Not bad overall, but can make commutes somewhat long. Keep reading

I love Glover Park. It is much more neighborhood than city. Wisconsin Ave has a good selection of restaurants and shops in walking distance. It's about a mile downhill to Georgetown University. Coming home, that mile is uphill! Decent bus service, no metro service at all. Uber has it covered very well.

Glover Park is an extremely safe area. It has tons of food options along with basically anything else you could need. The downside is it is not near any public transportation and the cost of living is veru high. It is extremely popular for young adults to move their after college graudation. Definitely a young, fun enviroment.

A more quiet part of the city. Quick commute to campus and the surrounding Georgetown neighborhood: walkable, by bike/scooter and shuttle. Some restaurants and shops nearby. Note with ongoing construction the Wisconsin Ave. shuttle drops riders off on the far side of the hospital, so plan for time to walk to class from there. This shuttle also operates for fewer hours than the other routes.
