Located less than 10 miles north of Downtown Seattle, surrounding the well-known Northgate Mall is the Northgate neighborhood. The neighborhood overall is great. The light rail and the Kraken Iceplex are great! The homeless population has really increased though, and sometimes it feels less safe.

525 Enclave
The neighborhood is fairly friendly and nice, and feels much safer than the University District to me. I still don't like to walk places at night, but my husband has never felt unsafe in our neighborhood, so I think it's just the reality of being female.
