Franklin Street
Campus Hub for UNC
Franklin Street is Chapel Hill's hub for UNC students, with plenty of options for nightlife and dining. As such, the area tends to be a bit noisier and a lot more crowded than other neighborhoods around Chapel Hill but you won't find a more happening spot. Popular music venues include The Station, Local 506, and Cat's Cradle.
Although the area predominantly consists of UNC students, it's also home to some young families and young professionals working around Chapel Hill. If you're the type of person who likes to be in the epicenter of a city's nightlife, Franklin Street is the spot.

Walkable to most restaurants and bars. Not on Franklin St, so not as much noise but Rosemary St. can still be pretty busy.

I love Franklin Street because it's easy for me to walk to restaurants, Target, yoga and bars. The only con is that it's sort of loud.
You can also take the bus to school, but I usually drive. Keep reading

I've loved that I'm walking distance to everything on Franklin Street and that I've been able to engage with more of the greater UNC campus than my peers in the MBA program.

10 minute drive to school and grocery Borders a rough neighborhood behind Rosemary Street so must always keep doors locked and never walk home alone. Depending on where you live it can be noisy with undergrads - steer clear of The Warehouse Apartments and Chancellor Square that are next to Bobs on either side. Keep reading

Franklin Street isn't wild unless you make it wild. Living half a block away, I rarely hear parties or evening noise.

Roberson Walk
The house is on a dead-end street with a bunch of other rental homes. Almost the entire street is occupied with undergrads attending UNC. It can get a little noisy some nights due to parties, but that only happens maybe once a month. If you walk to the end of the dead end street, there's a small path that pops out right next to Carolina Ale House on Franklin Street.
