Great location for students

Very convenient for driving to Emory (7-15 mins depending on traffic) and right on the Emory shuttle line. Beautiful unit, responsive maintenance. Management can be difficult to get ahold of. Gates to the parking garage are always broken and people frequently smoke on property despite it being a no smoking property. Amenities are nice, but if you wanted more extensive amenities/bigger gym then go for the East property across the street. Overall would recommend if you are commuting daily to Emory/CDC.

Cortland Oleander

The amenities are nice, and the upgrades are excellent. Maintenance is punctual unless it involves air conditioners. My air conditioner was broken for 3 months in the middle of the summer before they were able to put in a new one. There were no concessions for my astronomical power bill for running their temporary portable air conditioner window unit. Staff was rude when I would call for updates. Crime is picking up in the community as well. Pick your battles. We have crime but the actual building is nice.

New management starting off strong.

Ever since new management came in, things have been good here (about a year, so consistency yet to be seen). The apartments are incredibly nice. There is a gym. There is free coffee downstairs but it's not very good (and under old management the machine could get pretty dirty-looking). It is a pet-friendly residence, but people are not great at picking up after their pets. Once in a long while you will even see a dog turd inside the halls. Maintenance is responsive, though our unit has a minor recurring issue that they don't seem to be able to permanently fix. Near executive park shuttle and somewhat near a couple city buses, if you're willing to walk next to a semi-busy street with no sidewalk (you can walk on the grass and leaves). Beware extremely small windows in some bedrooms (and so high up you will never see anything but sky when sitting down)--I would recommend explicitly asking about these in reference to any unit as they can change within floor plans.

Great complex for the price

I have lived here for two years and have loved living here. Management is super responsive, and has done a lot to improve amenities including recently renovating the gym, adding in package lockers, and renovating the individual apartments. The apartments are super spacious for the price, and even the not renovated units are still really nice.

Great place to live

The Sheridan just got a new management team and they have been super responsive to maintenance requests and other needs. Great price for a one bedroom with a spacious floorplan. Short drive to campus, but also close to an Emory bus stop. I would highly recommend the location.

Great apartments and excellent/responive management team

Gables Sheridan is a great apartment to live in. I've lived here for close to 2 years and don't have much to complain about. There's ample parking in the outside parking lot and in the parking garage. There's a wonderful pool and great gym (open 24 hours a day). And although I don't use it much there's also a computer room, which has a television set and free coffee. The management team is very responsive to service requests and Gables is constantly updating the property. They recently repainted the entire complex (only the hallways, not actual apartments), completely renovated the leasing office and the computer room, and added brand new patio chairs/tables to the outside pool area. In addition, it's very close to many food options and grocery stores like Pulix, Kroger, Fresh Market, and Target. I highly recommend this apartment and have to add the year-over-year increase in rent I got last year was only a 3% increase.

Awesome

This place is awesome. Great pool with great gym. Barbecue pit outside. Located in good are with grocery stores close by. This place is very good. One of he best places I have stayed at in Atlanta. It is a bit pricey though which I don't like. If only the rent was lower.

Convenient!

This place is really convenient to a lot of bars and restaurants downtown. It's also pretty close to other necessities such as grocery stores and public transportation. Finally, the apartments are kept up to date and we've had no issues in the two years we've lived here!

Safe, quiet and luxurious for a decent cost

Staff is very friendly & helpful. Apt is upscale & safe. Location is PRIME!!!! Nothing can beat that, it's close to the city, highway; many different restaurants and grocery stores down the road. Only downfall- don't leave the apt. during rush hour.

Getting around North Druid Hills

North Druid Hills Reviews

150 reviews
It's a prime location for getting around the city! I can get to midtown, Decatur, inman park, etc. in about a 20 min drive or less. The drive to school each morning is about 10-15 mins with little to no traffic. The area is safe with tons of restaurants and shopping. The only downside is that it's not close to any prime nightlife scene, but Ubers aren't too expensive. Incredibly safe which is something I was looking for as a woman living alone. There's no perfect place, but for the amount of space I have (850 sq ft), safety, proximity to school, and easy access to other areas in the city, it can't be beat.
North Druid Hills is a lovely neighborhood and one that I am happy to be living in as my first exposure to Atlanta. There are beautiful tree lined streets and its proximity to Emory is a great selling point.
Beautiful houses and trees, calm, quiet community.
It's an open area with trees. Very close to Emory campus as well as the Toco Hills plaza (Kroger, Publix, many restaurants). Further down Clairmont at the intersection with North Decatur road, there's another Publix as well as some other restaurants in the plaza.

Golden Drop Cafe--which has outdoor seating incase the pandemic is still uncontrolled when you read this--is just 3 min. down the road. Mason Mill Park, which has tennis courts, a pavillion, and walking trails, is also very near.
Very convenient location as far being somewhat close to a lot of different areas though it itself isn't where the night life or all the best restaurant areas are. Lots of grocery options very close by, including Whole Foods, Krogers and Publix.
My wife and I love walking through the beautiful homes in the local neighborhood. It is a very safe area even at night.
You can find any type of store or restaurant that you would ever need within a 5-15 minute drive.
My wife and I go on walks around sunset most nights through the neighborhood. Have never felt unsafe. Neighbors are all very friendly along our walks. Lots of beautiful homes to gawk at.
