Overall rating 7.3/10, based on 3 renter reviews Write a review
1645 E 118th
This is a nice apartment building, and there are significant perks such as free, private, single-car garage parking, in-unit laundry, central air, and new appliances. It is a very spacious 1-bed. It is a very comfortable place to live, and management is friendly. My complaints are that there is a lack of any sort of outdoor green space or communal areas, so there is little opportunity to get to know your neighbors. The package room is driving-distance away, and if you want to pay your rent by paper check to avoid a $50/month "convenience fee" online (!!), you also have to drive to the leasing office. There is no recycling offered. The neighborhood is very hit or miss: you are very close to the CWRU sports fields, which have security at night and seem safe, but also close to some sketchier neighborhoods surrounding the campus, where there are regular crime alerts from the local police.

118 Flats - Square Review
I'm a CWRU graduate student, and I've been living in this apartment complex for a year now. The apartment itself is very modern and luxurious, which is expected for a rent of $1725 per month minus utilities. The location is very close to the main street of University Circle and is roughly a 5 minute drive to the Veale parking structure. Overall, the area is very safe and I haven't had any problems regarding safety. One downside is that the train tracks are relatively close, so you will hear train sirens almost every night. I had a couple of maintenance issues when I first moved in such as heating problems, but this was dealt with quickly. If you own a car, the personal garage is a major plus especially during the winter. Overall, if you can afford $1725 plus some more for utilities I would highly recommend the 118 Flats apartments.

Good value, but expensive
First off, I love the place, its convenient, spacious, looks great. I take the healthline to school, ~10 min door to door. The application process and touring was a little iffy, but new management has since taken over the property. However, the apartments are a little close to the train tracks, so if you're a light sleeper, may not be great.

University Circle Reviews
Close enough to campus buildings so there was enough light that I felt safe enough, but once I left campus, felt a little more alert.
University Circle is THE hub for cultural activity in Cleveland. The Cleveland Museum of Art is my favorite place in the Circle. It has fabulous permanent exhibits and brings in wonderful temporary exhibitions. The museum hosts social events that are perfect for young people more than once a month. The Circle also contains Severance Hall - home of the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, the Natural History Museum, and more!
The area is fairly safe as it is heavily patrolled by UCPD and Campus Police. Ambulances frequent the area to get to the hospital, but that is the only noise complaint I've ever heard of.
I couldn't be happier about living right in University Circle during law school.
There is a grocery store that is very convenient and also the normal college campus chain restaurants like Chipotle.
