Overall rating 5.1/10, based on 17 renter reviews Write a review
The Marylander reviews and highlights
- good amenities and spacious apartments
- safe with security guards on every corner at night
- older building
- reasonably priced
- conveniently located right next to Johns Hopkins University and near the JHMI bus stop
Facility is very bad but good location
One day, one side of my wall looks wired. This was because of the water leakage. This kind of events happen very frequently. They just stop water supply because something breaks. It is okay, but they usually give notice to us 2 days ahead. They never fix elevator (1 out 3), which stops working for several months.

I am happy with my apt
Though the facility and management is not good, I like my apt because of good location. It is very convenient for taking JHMI shuttle and this area is relatively safe (many guards stay near). The rental is not cheap but it is durable price. One thing that I can't really understand is that the rent increases a lot annually. Don't know why.

Location is good
It's close to JHU. The public transportation is only across the street. There are many restaurants with walking distance. My complaint is that the heaters are only turned on if the temperature is below 32 F, people do not feel cold at 34 F they think, window units are not sufficient to heat up your apartment.

Good apt
I like this apartment building overall. I love the area it's in -- there are a lot of restaurants, you can walk to the Baltimore Museum of Art, and there's a lot of good public transportation, which is important to me since I don't have a car. Good value for what you get overall!

It's okay
It's only one block from JHU and Medstar Hospital. Location is excellent. It's pet friendly, if you have one, you can take it with you here. Unfortunately, the maintenance of the apartment is not very well. You can find cockroaches! The price is reasonable

The Marylander
For a person coming to live in Baltimore for the first time- i would definitely recommend The Marylander to them. Specially if the person works at JHU - it is the best bet.
Located in an amazing and a very safe locality - something essential while living in Baltimore.

The Marylander
Great location and a solid value, but management can be hard to deal with at times and the building has had a few maintenance issues in the past year. Still, it’s reasonably priced and a good starter apartment if you are new to the area
